Exit Art Executive Director Jeanette Ingberman Has Died

Jeanette Ingberman, the executive director of the non-profit cultural center Exit Art, died on August 24, in New York City from complications of leukemia. She was 59.

Ingberman co-founded Exit Art in 1982 with husband Papo Colo, who is Exit Art’s artistic director. The organization now features galleries, a small theater, and a film auditorium that presents a diverse array of programming.

She is survived by her husband, as well as a brother, Israel Ingberman and sister-in-law Terry Ryan, and several nieces and nephews. Ingberman’s funeral will be held in Puerto Rico. A public memorial will be held in the future at a date to be announced.
