Andrea McArdle will star in the new musical Greenwood, to be presented as part of the New York Musical Theatre Festival (NYMF) at Signature Theater’s Peter Norton Space, October 6-16.

This original musical comedy is about a group of friends who share a profound experience at a performing arts camp and come back together to try to recreate it 25 years later. Greenwood‘s book, music and lyrics are by Grammy-nominated music producer Tor Hyams and writer/director/actor Adam LeBow, who have based the story on the experiences they shared at French Woods–the performing arts camp they both attended as teenagers.

The cast will also feature Felicia Finley, Mary Mossberg, Alicia Morton, Cary Shields, and McArdle’s real life daughter Alexis Kalehoff. Additional casting will be announced shortly.

McArdle is best known for originating the title role in the mega-musical Annie, for which she became the youngest performer ever to be nominated for a Tony Award as Best Lead Actress in a Musical. Her other Broadway credits include Jerry’s Girls, Starlight Express, State Fair, Les Miserables and Disney’s Beauty and the Beast.
