PBS’ Live From Lincoln Center to Telecast New York Philharmonic’s Opening Night

PBS’ Live From Lincoln Center series will telecast the New York Philharmonic’s Opening Night Gala on Wednesday, September 22 at 9pm.


Music Director Alan Gilbert will lead the New York Philharmonic, Wynton Marsalis, and the Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra in the U.S. premiere of Marsalis’s “Symphony No. 3, Swing Symphony.” The program also features Richard Strauss’ “Don Juan” and Hindemith’s “Symphonic Metamorphoses on Themes by Carl Maria von Weber.”

As previously reported, Live From Lincoln Center will next telecast the August 18 performance of the Broadway musical South Pacific, starring Tony Award winner Paulo Szot and Kelli O’Hara.
