Three-time Oscar nominee Nora Ephron will write and direct a film about the life of legendary singer Peggy Lee, according to Variety.

Academy Award winner Reese Witherspoon is set to co-produce the film and is in negotiations to play Lee.

Ephron and her sister Delia are the co-authors of the hit Off-Broadway play Love, Loss, and What I Wore.

Ephron has been nominated for the screenplays of Sleepless in Seattle, When Harry Met Sally, and Silkwood. She also wrote and directed the films Michael, You've Got Mail, Bewitched and Julie and Julia, and did the screenplay adaptation of her novel Heartburn.
