Tony nominee Mireille Enos will star in a new AMC crime drama, according to The New York Times. The show, which in pilot form was called The Killing, is as-yet untitled. Veena Sud serves as writer and executive producer. Production is scheduled to begin this fall in Vancouver, with a premiere in 2011.

The show is based on the Danish television series Forbrydelsen, with the American version set in Seattle. Enos will play a homicide detective, with the cast also including Billy Campbell, Michelle Forbes, Joel Kinnaman and Brent Sexton.

Enos received a Tony nomination for her role as Honey in the 2005 revival of Who’s Afraid of Virginia Woolf?, with additional Broadway credits including The Invention of Love and Absurd Person Singular. She recently appeared opposite Annette Bening in the Geffen Playhouse production of The Female of the Species, and is also known for her work on HBO’s Big Love.
