The Guthrie Theater and The Acting Company’s touring season will begin and end with engagements at Pace University’s Michael Schimmel Center for the Arts. Penny Metroulos will direct Romeo and Juliet, to run October 22-24, and Ian Belknap will direct The Comedy of Errors, to run April 4-17.

The cast for the two productions will include Acting Company alumni as well as graduates of Guthrie’s BFA program and Guthrie Experience students. Between the New York engagements, the productions will be seen in 32 communities in 20 states, including Brainerd, MN, Poplar Bluff, MO, Sandusky, OH, Potsdam, NY, Maryville, TN and Statesboro, GA.

Metropulos’ credits include The Comedy of Errors, Tracy’s Tiger, Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde, The Philanderer, and Humble Boy, among others, at the Oregon Shakespeare Festival. Her work has also been seen at such theaters as Denver Center Theatre Company, Arena Stage, Chicago Shakespeare Theater, and Berkeley Repertory Theatre.

Belknap directed a program of Alan Ball’s one-acts for The Acting Company earlier this year. His work has also been seen at New York’s 59E59 Theaters and The Curious Theatre Branch in Chicago.
