Vanessa Redgrave will reprise her Tony-nominated performance in The Year of Magical Thinking for a benefit at the Cathedral Church of St. John the Divine on October 26 at 8:00 pm.

The play is a loose adaptation of Joan Didion’s book about her bereavement over the death of her husband of 39 years, John Gregory Dunne, in 2003 and the subsequent death of their daughter, Quintana Roo Dunne. Redgrave performed the show on Broadway, earning a Tony Award nomination for Best Actress.

Redgrave was originally scheduled to perform the benefit on April 27, but postponed the show after her daughter, Tony Award winner Natasha Richardson, passed away due to injuries sustained in a skiing accident. Funds raised will go to programs run by the United Nations International Children’s Emergency Fund (UNICEF) and the United Nations Relief and Works Agency (UNRWA) to provide support to the children of Gaza and southern Israel.

Tickets are $40-$150, and can be purchased by visiting www.stjohndivine.org.
