Taylor Mac’s The Lily’s Revenge to Play HERE

The award-winning HERE Arts Center has announced selections for its 2009-2010 season.

The MainStage season will kick off with Taylor Mac’s epic play The Lily’s Revenge (October 29-November 22), which will use an ensemble of more than 40 actors and musicians to the tell the tale of a flower on a quest to become a man as it finds itself in the midst of a revolution. The piece will use five separate directors: Paul Zimet, Rachel Chavking, Faye Driscoll, Aaron Rhyne, and David Drake.

Also on the MainStage will be Sounding (February 17-March 13), a cross-disciplinary piece by Jennifer Gibbs, loosely inspired by Ibsen’s The Lady from the Sea, and Paris Syndrome (May 29-June 12), a dance theater piece about Japanese tourists visiting Paris from the ensemble Ex.Pgirl.

The Dorothy Williams Theatre will host puppet artist Hanne Tierney’s My Life in a Nutshell (October 5-25) and Barba Weichman’s family-friendly work Aunt Leaf (January 7-24).

Finally, HERE’s annual CULTUREMART festival will return, January 12-February 7.
