Tony winner Sutton Foster and Empire State Pride Agenda’s executive director Alan Van Cappelle will join the cast of Hair (including Tony nominee Gavin Creel), Public Theater artistic director Oskar Eustis, and producer David Stone for a rally to help mobilize New York’s theater community in advance of October’s National Equality March in Washington, D.C. The rally will be held at Central Park’s Delacorte Theater on Friday, August 28 from 2:30-3:30 PM and will be open to the public.

The National Equality March was conceived by activist David Mixner. LGBT community leader Cleve Jones is one of the primary organizers of the event. As previously announced, the producers of the Tony Award-winning revival of Hair have, in an unprecedented move, canceled the show’s Sunday, October 11th performance so that the entire cast can join the march.
