Rufus Wainwright to Perform at Highline Ballroom Concert

Rufus Wainwright will join his sister Martha Wainwright, their father Loudon Wainwright III, and singng group The Roches at the Highline Ballroom on September 15. They’ll be performing songs from the elder Wainwright’s new CD, High, Wide and Handsome: The Charlie Poole Project.

The Wainwrights have performed together previously, notably on the 2003 album, So Damn Happy. In addition to Poole Project, Loudon Wainright has had another recent release the 2008 disc Recovery, in which he revisits older material including such songs as “Old Friend” and “Movies Are a Mother To Me.”
