Elaine Murphy’s Little Gem Wins Best of Edinburgh Award

Little Gem, written by Elaine Murphy, is the recipient of the 2009 Carol Tambor Best of Edinburgh Award, the highest honor at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe.

The play is a year in the life of three generations of women and their adventures in love, sex, birth, death, and salsa classes. The Edinburgh production was directed by Paul Meade, and featured Hilda Fay, Sarah Greene, and Anita Reeves.

This year, The Carol Tambor Theatrical Foundation has partnered with the Obie and Drama Desk Award-winning Flea Theatre to present the winning production in January 2010.
