Broadway Race Announces Full Cast, Creative Team

The creative team has been finalized for the world premiere of Race. Written and directed by David Mamet, the show will play the Ethel Barrymore Theater, with previews beginning November 16, and an opening set for December 6. As previously announced, the cast will feature David Alan Grier, James Spader, Richard Thomas, and Kerry Washington.

The creative team for the show will include Santo Loquasto (sets), Brian MacDevitt (lighting), and Tom Broecker (costumes).

Grier received a Tony nomination and Theatre World Award for The First, and is best known for the satirical TV comedies, In Living Color and Chocolate News. Spader is best known for his work on the ABC-TV series The Practice and Boston Legal, for which he won a total of four Emmy Awards. Thomas’ Broadway credits include Democracy, A Naked Girl on the Appian Way, and Sunrise at Campobello. He won his Emmy in 1972 for playing the role of John Boy on The Waltons. Washington, who will be making her Broadway debut, has appeared in such films as Ray, Lift, The Last King of Scotland, The Dead Girl, and Lakeview Terrace.
