Toronto Film Festival Line-Up Expanded; Danes, Efron, Fiennes, Firth, Hoffman Among Stars

Additional selections to this year’s Toronto Film Festival, to run September 4-13, have been announced, according to Variety.

Of particular interest to theater fans are Richard Linklater’s Me and Orson Welles, starring Christian McKay, Claire Danes, and Zac Efron; Stephen Belber’s romantic comedy Management, starring Jennifer Aniston, Woody Harrelson, and Steve Zahn; Stephan Elliot’s adaptation of Noel Coward’s Easy Virtue, starring Colin Firth, Kristin Scott Thomas, Jessica Biel, and Ben Barnes; Christopher Barratier’s musical Faubourg 36, about a trio of unemployed stage workers in 1936 Paris who try to put on a hit show; and Charlie Kaufman’s Synecdoche, New York starring Academy Award winner and Tony Award nominee Philip Seymour Hoffman as a theater director.

Tony winner Ralph Fiennes will star in two Festival entries: The Duchess alongside Keira Knightley, Dominic Cooper, and Charlotte Rampling, and Kathryn Bigelow’s The Hurt Locker with David Morse and Guy Pearce. Other selections of note include The Secret Life of Bees, starring Oscar winner Jennifer Hudson and Queen Latifah; Spike Lee’s World War II drama, Miracle at St. Anna; Mike Leigh’s Happy-Go-Lucky; and Steve Jacobs’ Disgrace, starring John Malkovich as a South African professor.
