Tony winner Norbert Leo Butz will star opposite the previously announced Elizabeth Marvel in the world premiere of Michael Weller’s Fifty Words, to be presented by MCC Theater at the Lucille Lortel Theatre, September 10-October 25, with an opening set for September 28. Austin Pendleton will direct.

The two-hander is an expansive look at modern marriage, as seen through the looking glass of one couple’s long night’s journey into day.

Butz won his Tony for Dirty Rotten Scoundrels, and most recently appeared on Broadway in Is He Dead? Additional Main Stem credits include Wicked, Cabaret, Thou Shalt Not (Tony Award-nomination), and Rent. Marvel starred in the recent Broadway revival of Top Girls. She is a three-time Obie Award winner, for Hedda Gabler, A Streetcar Named Desire, and Misalliance.
