Merle Dandridge to Join Broadway’s Spamalot on September 2

Merle Dandridge will replace Marin Mazzie as Lady of the Lake in Monty Python’s Spamalot, playing at Broadway’s Shubert Theatre, on Tuesday, September 2.

She will join Emmy nominee Stephen Collins and Grammy nominee Drew Lachey, who portray King Arthur and Patsy. The cast also includes Tom Deckman, Rick Holmes, Bradley Dean, Robert Petkiff, and Wally Dunn.

Dandridge’s Broadway credits include Tarzan, Aida, Rent, and Jesus Christ Superstar. Her other stage credits include Smokey Joe’s Cafe, Most Wanted, Atlanta, and The Kentucky Cycle.

Monty Python’s Spamalot has a book by Eric Idle and a score by Eric Idle and John DuPrez. It is directed by Mike Nichols, with choreography by Casey Nicholaw. The show won three Tony Awards, including Best Musical.
