Creel, DeLaria, Morrison, Ripley, Rubin-Vega, et al. Set for LaChiusa Concert at Joe’s Pub

Alice Ripley, Lea DeLaria, Matthew Morrison, Mary Testa, Judy Kuhn, Gregory Jbara, Julia Murney, Daphne Rubin-Vega, Andrew Samonsky, Gavin Creel, Kate Shindle, and Dina Morishita will appear in a concert devoted to the work of Michael John LaChiusa at Joe’s Pub at 9:30pm on Monday, September 8.

The concert is in conjunction with the September 9 release of the Ghostlight Records CD of LaChiusa’s musical Little Fish, based on the musical’s production at Los Angeles’ Blank Theatre Company. In addition to Ripley, Jbara, and Morishita, the CD features Chad Kimball, Robert Torti, German Santiago, Samantha Shelton, and Brooke
Tansley.

In addition to work from Little Fish, the concert will feature performances of songs from LaChiusa’s Off-Broadway musical See What I Wanna See and Bernarda Alba, as well as surprises from the composer/lyricist’s vast catalog.
