Callaghan, Foreman, Russell, Schwartz, et al. Set for Prelude ’08 Festival

Sheila Callaghan, Richard Foreman, Neal Medlyn, and Jenny Schwartz are among the artists who will participate in the Prelude ’08 Festival, to take place September 24-27, at the Martin E. Segal Theatre Center and The Graduate Center of The City University.

The festival allows theatergoers an advance look at nearly two dozen new works, at no cost, before they are performed later in the season in venues around the city. Also performing this year will be NTUSA, Big Art Group, NYC Players, Builders Association, Big Dance Theater, Branden Jacobs-Jenkins, Fluxconcert, Banana Bag and Bodice, Wax Factory/Ivan Talijancic, Raul Vincent Enriquez, Andrew Schneider, Peter Von Salis and Ruth Sergei, Okwui Okpokwasili, Temporary Distortion, The Air Band, Joyce Cho, Tal Yarden, and The Paper Industry and moving theater.

An additional program will be “Spotlight on Poland,” which will preview new work by four contemporary Polish writers. There will also be panel discussions featuring such personalities as Foreman, Mark Russell, Debra Singer, Marianne Weems, Yehuda Duenyas, Susan Feldman, David Cote, Eric Dyer, and Vallejo Gantner.
