Tracy Letts’ August: Osage County to Bow at Imperial in October

The Steppenwolf Theatre Company’s acclaimed production of Tracy Letts’ August: Osage County will begin previews at the Imperial Theatre on October 30, opening on November 20 for a 16-week limited engagement . The show, which concerns a missing patriarch and the reunion of the Weston clan to their three-story home in rural Oklahoma, is currently on view at Steppenwolf through August 26.

The drama, which runs over three hours, will be directed by Anna D. Shapiro. It will feature Steppenwolf ensemble members Ian Barford, Francis Guinan, Mariann Mayberry, Amy Morton, Sally Murphy, Jeff Perry, and Rondi Reed, as well as Deanna Dunagan, Kimberly Guerrero, Fawn Johnstin, Dennis Letts, and Troy West. The creative team includes Todd Rosenthal (sets), Ann Wrightson (lights), Ana Kuzmanic (costumes), Richard Woodbury (sound), and David Singer (original music).


Letts’ other plays include The Man From Nebraska, Bug, and Killer Joe. Shapiro has directed many plays including The Man From Nebraska and Bruce Norris’ The Pain and the Itch and The Unmentionables.

The musical Billy Elliot is scheduled to begin previews at the Imperial on September 17, 2008.
