Tony Award winners Christopher Plummer and Anika Noni Rose will play the title roles in the 2008 Stratford Shakespeare Festival production of William Shakespeare’s Caesar and Cleopatra, to be directed by Des McAnuff. No dates or additional casting have been announced.

The Festival will also present two musicals as part of its 2008 season, Cabaret, directed by Amanda Dehnert, and The Music Man, to be directed by Susan H. Schulman. Both shows will be staged at the Avon Theatre.

Plummer previously appeared at Stratford in Barrymore, for which he later won a Tony Award, and King Lear, which transferred to Lincoln Center. He was most recently seen on Broadway in Inherit the Wind, for which he received a Tony nomination. Rose won a Tony for Caroline, or Change and earned critical acclaim for her performance as Lorrell in the film version of Dreamgirls.
