Full Cast, Creative Team Set for DC Taming of the Shrew

Christopher Innvar and Charlayne Woodard will play Petruchio and Katharine in the Shakespeare Theatre Company’s production of The Taming of the Shrew, September 25-November 18. The production will be directed by Rebecca Bayla Taichman.

Innvar’s Broadway credits include 110 in the Shade, Victor/Victoria, Les Miserables, and The Threepenny Opera. His Off-Broadway and regional credits include Floyd Collins, A New Brain, and Ring Round the Moon. Woodard has starred on Broadway in Hair and Ain’t Misbehavin’. She received Drama Desk nominations for her Off-Broadway work in Hang on to the Good Times, In the Blood, and In Real Life.

The principal cast will also include Lisa Birnbaum (Bianca), Aubrey Deeker (Hortensio), Michael Milligan (Lucentio), and J. Fred Shiffman (Gremio). In addition, the cast will include Drew Eshelman, Bill Hamlin, Nicholas Hormann, Brandon Miller, Bruce Nelson, Erika Rose, Todd Scofield, Wyckham Avery, Andy English, Sean Fraser, and Nick Vienna.

The design team will include Narelle Sissons (sets), Miranda Hoffman (costumes), Daniel Baker and Ryan Rumery (sound), Robert Wierzel (lighting), Deena Burke (voice and text coach), and Sean Curran (choreography).

Taichman’s directorial credits include the Woolly Mammoth production of Sarah Ruhl’s The Clean House and the Second Stage Theatre’s production of Theresa Rebeck’s The Scene.
