Complete Casting Set for Hartford Stage’s Our Town; Sella and Graham to Star in Chick

Complete casting has been announced for Hartford Stage’s upcoming production of Thornton Wilder’s Our Town, to be directed by Gregory Boyd, which will run August 30-September 30, with an official opening on September 5.

The principal cast will feature Hal Holbrook as the Stage Manager, Ross Bickell (Dr. Gibbs), Charlotte Booker (Mrs. Soames), Ginna Carter (Emily Webb), Frank Converse (Mr. Webb), Erin Courtney (Rebecca Gibbs), Jordan Cyr (Wally Webb), Robert Hannon Davis (Constable Warren), Josie DeGuzman (Mrs. Gibbs), Annalee Jeffries (Mrs. Webb), Bill Kuk (Howie Newsome), Nafe Katter (Professor Willard/Joe Stoddard), Tom Libonate (Sam Craig), Jake Lombardi (Joe Crowell/Si Crowell), Donovan Patton (George Gibbs), Andrew Shipman (Wally Webb), and Noble Shropshire (Simon Stimson).

In other news, real-life husband and wife Robert Sella and Enid Graham will star in David Grimm’s Chick, The Great Osram, to run October 13-November 11, to be helmed by artistic director Michael Wilson. The two-character show focuses on A. Everett “Chick” Austin, Jr., the rebellious director of the Wadsworth Athaneum in the 1920s, and his wife Helen.

Sella’s Broadway credits include My Fair Lady, Cabaret, Side Man, and Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, and he won a Drama Desk Award for his work in the Public Theater’s production of Stuff Happens. Graham received a Tony Award nomination and a Theatre World Award for Honour; her other Broadway credits include Fortune’s Fool, Dinner at Eight, and The Constant Wife.

Hartford Stage’s season also includes Jeremy B. Cohen’s production of Mahalia — A Gospel Musical (August 2-19). In 2008, Tony Award winner Elizabeth Ashley will star in Jeremy Sams’ Zerline’s Tale, directed by Michael Wilson (January 10-February 10), followed by Lydia Diamond’s adaptation of Toni Morrison’s The Bluest Eye (February 21-March 23), Theresa Rebeck’s The Scene (April 3-May 4), and Academy Award winner Olympia Dukakis in Tennessee Williams’ The Milk Train Doesn’t Stop Here Anymore (May 15-June 15).
