The Kaufman Center has announced programming for its 2007-2008 season. The Merkin Center Hall is undergoing renovation and expected to reopen on January 8 with a special concert.

As a result, the Center’s popular Broadway Close Up series will be held at the new TimesCenter (242 West 41st Street). It will begin on Monday, October 1 with Stephen Schwartz: Magic to Do featuring Schwartz, host Sean Hartley, and singers Liz Callaway, Debbie Gravitte, and Marni Nixon. On Monday, November 5, lyricist Sheldon Harnick will be on hand for To Life! with Hartley and guest artists David Margulies and Rebecca Luker. The series concludes on Monday, December 3 with Bound for Broadway VIII, a sneak peak at five new Broadway-bound shows, to be hosted by Callaway. All events begin at 8pm.

The Center’s family-friendly Broadway Playhouse series, which is held on Sundays at 11am, will examine Anything Goes (January 13), Fiddler on the Roof (February 24) — with a special appearance by Harnick — and My Fair Lady (March 30).
