Burrell, Fabrique, Foy, Hicks, et al. Set for Women of Brewster Place

Full cast and creative team have been announced for the new musical The Women of Brewster Place, to run at the Alliance Theatre in Atlanta, September 5-30, and Arena Stage in Washington D.C., October 19-December 9. The show is written by Tim Acito, based on the novel of the same name by Gloria Naylor, and directed by Molly Smith.

The musical explores the lives of seven passionate African-American women living in an urban housing project in the early 1970s. Acito is best known as the author of the musical Zanna, Dont!

The cast will feature Cheryl Alexander, Terry Burrell, Suzanne Douglas, Tina Fabrique, Harriett D. Foy, Eleasha Gamble, Marva Hicks, Monique L. Midgette, Tijuana T. Ricks, and Shelley Thomas. The creative team features Kenneth L. Roberson (choreography), Anne Patterson (sets), Paul Tazewell (costumes), Darren W. McCroom (lighting), Garth Hemphill (sound), Adam Larsen (projections), and William Forster McDaniel (music direction).
