Full casting has been announced for the Geffen Playhouse’s production of the late Wendy Wasserstein’s Third, September 11-October 28. The production, which will open on September 19, will be directed by Maria Mileaf.

First seen at Lincoln Center Theater, Third will star Christine Lahti as Laurie Jameson, a professor at a prestigious New England university who is convinced that one of her students, Woodson Bull III, is a plagiarist, despite any substantial evidence.

The cast will also include Jayne Brook as Nancy, Matt Czuchry as Woodson Bull III (aka Third), Sarah Drew as Emily, and M. Emmet Walsh as Jack. The creative team will include Vince Mountain (sets), Alex Jaeger (costumes), David Lander (lighting), and Michael Roth (music composition).

Lahti has starred on Broadway in The Heidi Chronicles and Present Laughter. She received an Obie Award for Little Murders, a Theatre World Award for The Woods, and a Drama Desk nomination for Three Hotels. She won an Oscar for directing the short film Lieberman in Love, an Oscar nomination for her co-starring role in Swing Shift, and an Emmy Award for her role as Dr. Kathryn Austin on Chicago Hope.
