Julianna Margulies has joined the cast of The Lost Room, a six-hour miniseries scheduled to air in December on the SCI FI Channel. The series also stars Peter Krause as Joe Miller, a homicide detective who stumbles upon a seemingly innocuous motel room key that unlocks the door to a world of unimaginable power. Margulies plays Jennifer, a mysterious woman who claims that her brother was killed for that key. Tony Award winner Roger Bart plays the detective’s major enemy, and Elle Fanning plays Krause’s daughter.

Margulies co-starred in the Broadway production of Festen last season and has appeared Off-Broadway in Ten Unknowns, Intrigue With Faye, and The Vagina Monologues. She will soon be seen opposite Samuel L. Jackson in the film Snakes on a Plane. Her TV credits include The Sopranos, Scrubs, and E.R., for which she won an Emmy Award.

Krause, who starred on Broadway in the Roundabout Theatre Company’s revival of Arthur Miller’s After the Fall, is well known for his role of Nate Fisher on HBO’s Six Feet Under. Bart created the role of Carmen Ghia in The Producers, which he recreated for the film version, and eventually succeeded Matthew Broderick as Leo. He won a Tony Award for his performance as Snoopy in You’re a Good Man, Charlie Brown and has also starred on Broadway in Big River, Triumph of Love, and The Frogs.
