Broadway stars Danny Glover and DeQuina Moore, along with television star Victoria Rowell, will be honored by Houston’s Ensemble Theatre on Friday, August 25 as part of the company’s 30th anniversary celebration.

Glover will receive a Lifetime Achievement Award. He played Willie in the original Broadway production of Athol Fugard’s Master Harold… and the Boys, then took on the role of Sam in the show’s 2003 Broadway revival. Among his many film and television credits are The Color Purple, Places in the Heart, Lethal Weapon, Mandela, A Raisin in the Sun, and Lonesome Dove. Glover is involved in numerous philanthropic activities and currently serves as a UNICEF ambassador.

Moore, who will be given the Rising Star Award, appeared on Broadway in the revival of Little Shop of Horrors and The Actors’ Fund of America’s benefit concert of Hair. Rowell, who is being named “Actor of the Year,” is best known for her role of Drucilla on the CBS daytime drama The Young and the Restless; she also co-starred in the long-running primetime series Diagnosis: Murder.
