The Donmar Warehouse production of John Mortimer’s A Voyage Round My Father, starring Sir Derek Jacobi, will transfer to Wyndham’s Theater in the West End for a 13-week run beginning September 14. The Donmar engagement, which is sold out, concludes on August 5. The production is directed by Thea Sharrock.

The entire Donmar cast, including Christopher Benjamin, Lily Bevan, Neil Boorman, Osmund Bullock, Joanna David, Jamie De Courcey, Natasha Little, Dominic Rowan, Sadie Shimmin, and Katie Warren, will transfer with the show. The creative team consists of Robert Jones (sets and costumes), Peter Mumford (lighting), and Gregory Clarke (sound).

Mortimer’s autobiographical play is an affectionate portrait of a son’s relationship with his father. Growing up in the shadow of a brilliant barrister whose blindness was never mentioned by his family, the son continually yearns for his father’s love and respect.

Jacobi, one of England’s most respected actors, won the Tony Award for his performance in the Royal Shakespeare Company’s Much Ado About Nothing and was nominated for Breaking the Code. He also received Drama Desk Award nominations for his work in The Suicide, Cyrano de Bergerac, and Uncle Vanya.
