Kevin Chamberlin, William Finn, and Stuart Ross will be among the artists taking part in this year’s Reprise! Broadway’s Best Marvelous Musical Monday series.

The series will begin on September 11 with William Finn’s acclaimed song cycle Elegies, to be directed by Daivid Lee. The season will continue on February 7 with Richard Maltby Jr. and David Shire’s Baby, to be directed by Chamberlin, who is currently starring on Broadway in Chicago. Last up, on May 14, is the rarely-produced Robert Benton-Charles Strouse-Lee Adams musical It’s a Bird, It’s a Plane, It’s Superman. It will be directed by Ross, who is best known for his work on Forever Plaid.

As previously reported, the Reprise! series of staged musicals will begin on September 5 with My One and Only, starring Rachel York, Michael Gruber, Vicki Lewis, and Betty Garrett.

Meanwhile, on Sunday, August 13 at 7:30pm, Reprise and the ASCAP Foundation will co-present Jason Danieley and Marin Mazzie in their acclaimed cabaret act Opposite You at the Ford Ampitheatre. The couple’s program includes songs by Irving Berlin, Harold Arlen, and Stephen Sondheim. Danieley is currently starring in Curtains at the Ahmanson Theatre, while Mazzie, a three-time Tony Award nominee, will take over the role of The Lady of the Lake in the Broadway production of Monty Python’s Spamalot on October 31.
