Thom Pain Extends to December 31; T Ryder Smith to Replace James Urbaniak on September 5

T. Ryder Smith will replace James Urbaniak on September 5 in Will Eno’s acclaimed solo play Thom Pain (based on nothing), which will now play through December 31. The play, directed by Hal Brooks, was a finalist for this year’s Pulitzer Prize for Drama.

Smith’s previous New York credits include Underneath the Lintel, for which he received a Drama Desk nomination for Outstanding Solo Performance, The Gods are Pounding My Head, and King Cowboy Rufus Rules the Universe.

Thom Pain (based on nothing) premiered in 2004 at the Pleasance Theatre in Edinburgh, Scotland and transferred to the Soho Theatre in London later that year. It opened at the Daryl Roth on February 1, 2005.
