Dearbhla Molloy, Emily Bergl, John Horton, Byron Jennings, Kathryn Meisle, Randall Newsome, Ciarán O’Reilly, and Daniel Stewart Sherman will join previously announced star Gabriel Byrne in the Roundabout Theatre Company’s revival of Eugene O’Neill’s A Touch of the Poet. The production will be directed by Doug Hughes and will run November 11-January 29, with an official opening slated for December 8.

The design team for the show includes Santo Loquasto (sets and costumes), Christopher Akerlind (lighting), and David Van Tieghem (sound). Hughes is currently represented on Broadway by Doubt, for which he won the 2005 Tony Award for Best Director of a Play, and is directing the Roundabout production of A Naked Girl on the Appian Way, which begins previews next month.

A Touch of the Poet focuses on an Irish immigrant in 19th-century Boston (played by Byrne) who reaches a quandary in his life when his daughter (played by Molloy) falls for the son of a wealthy American. The play has had three previous Broadway productions.

Byrne was last seen on Broadway as James Tyrone in O’Neill’s A Moon for the Misbegotten (opposite Cherry Jones), for which performance he received a Tony Award nomination. He has appeared in more than 35 films, including The Usual Suspects, The Dead, and Into the West.

Molloy has been seen on Broadway in Dancing at Lughnasa and in the Roundabout production of Juno and the Paycock. Bergl, Jennings, and Meisle have also appeared in previous Roundabout shows. Horton’s many Broadway credits include Noises Off and Kiss Me, Kate. Newsome most recently appeared in Hughes’ production of The Heart is a Lonely Hunter. O’Reilly is a frequent presence at the Irish Repertory Theatre, where he is producing director. Sherman’s Broadway credits include Henry IV and The Full Monty.
