Full Cast Announced for Barrington Stage Company’s Elegies

Bradford William Anderson, Sandy Binion, Romain Frugé, André Ward, and Sally Wilfert have been cast in the Barrington Stage Company production of William Finn’s Elegies: A Song Cycle. Directed by Rob Ruggiero, the show will play August 11-28 at BSC’s Mahawie space in Great Barrington.

Elegies, which premiered at Lincoln Center’s Mitzi Newhouse Theater in March 2003, includes such songs as “Passover,” “Mark’s All-Male Thanksgiving,” “14 Dwight Ave., Natick, Massachusetts,” and “Joe Papp.” The composer will be present on August 12 and 17 for post-show talkbacks.

Anderson has been seen in the Goodspeed Opera House production of Babes in Arms and the Paper Mill Playhouse production of She Loves Me. Binion appeared in Jane Eyre on Broadway and in Jerry Herman’s Showtune at the York Theatre. Frugé was Ethan in the original Broadway company of The Full Monty and was recently seen as Whizzer in the Huntington Theatre Company production of Finn’s Falsettos. Ward appeared on Broadway as Chester in Saturday Night Fever, while Wilfert’s Broadway credits include Assassins and Tom Sawyer.

The creative team for BSC’s Elegies includes Tobin Ost (set and costume design), Randy Hansen (sound design), Matthew Richards (lighting design), and Deborah Abramson (musical direction).
