Dr. Sex to Begin August 26 at Peter Norton Space

Dr. Sex, the long-awaited musical comedy about sex researchers Alfred and Clara Kinsey, will begin performances at the Peter Norton Space on August 26, with Brian Noonan and Jennifer Simard starring as the famed couple. The show, which features a score by Larry Bortniker and a book by Bortniker and Sally Deering, will officially open on September 15.

Pamela Hunt, who directed The Musical of Musicals: The Musical, will helm the production. The supporting cast will feature Christopher Corts as their lab assistant (and mutual love interest) Wally Matthews, as well as Jared Bradshaw, Linda Cameron, David Edwards, Christy Faber, Colleen Hawks, and Benjie Randall.

The show’s set design is by Rob Bissinger, costume design is by John Carver Sullivan, lighting design is by Mary Jo Dodlinger, choreography is by Mark Esposito, and musical supervision is by Patrick Vaccariello.

Noonan has starred on Broadway in The Phantom of the Opera as both the title character and as Raoul. His other credits include Les Miserables, Jekyll & Hyde, and Cats. Simard received Drama Desk nominations in 2004 and 2005 for The Thing About Men and Forbidden Broadway: SVU respectively, and a 1997 Drama Desk nomination for I Love You, You’re Perfect, Now Change.
