Playwrights Edward Albee and Joe Pintauro, former talk show host Dick Cavett, and Oscar- and Tony-winning actress Mercedes Ruehl will be special guests at the Hamptons Shakespeare Festival’s 10th Anniversary Benefit Celebration.

The event will be held on Saturday evening, August 20 at the home of photographers Peter and Nemja Beard in Montauk, New York. Albee, Pintauro, Cavett, and Ruehl will give performances tailored specifically to the occasion. In addition, there will be a performance by the cast of the Hamptons Shakespeare Festival’s current offering, A Midsummer Night’s Dream. Cocktails, live music, and a candle-lit dinner will round out the festivities.

Albee is currently represented on Broadway by an acclaimed revival of Who’s Afraid of Virginia Woolf? starring Kathleen Turner and Tony Award winner Bill Irwin. A new production of his Pulitzer Prize-winning play Seascape is scheduled to open on Broadway in November, starring George Grizzard, Frances Sternhagen, Frederick Weller, and Elizabeth Marvel. Ruehl headlined the Broadway production of Albee’s The Goat, or Who Is Sylvia.

All tickets for the August 20 event are priced at $175. For reservations and/or more information, call 631-267-0105.
