League Offers Discounts on Broadway Tickets for Performances During the RNC

You don’t have to wear a “Peaceful Political Activist” button to receive discounts on Broadway shows during the Republican National Convention. Beginning today, the League of American Theatres and Producers is offering a special discount program: Anyone who purchases a full-price ticket to a participating Broadway show for performances from August 30 through September 2 will be entitled to a second ticket for $20.04.

Participating shows include After the Fall, Bombay Dreams, Chicago, 42nd Street, The Frogs, Golda’s Balcony, Hairspray, Mamma Mia!, Marc Salem’s Mind Games on Broadway, Movin’ Out, The Phantom of the Opera, The Producers, Rent, Sly Fox, and Wonderful Town.

League president Jed Bernstein commented, “With the nation’s attention focused on the Republican National Convention at Madison Square Garden, Broadway shows are joining with other local industries to celebrate our home town as the news, culture, and entertainment capital of the world. There’s no better way for Broadway to help get the word out that Midtown Manhattan will be open for business during the convention than by inviting savvy New Yorkers to take advantage of this unconventional offer. This is a wonderful opportunity to obtain great seats at a special price.”

Tickets can be purchased by visiting the Broadway ticket Center located inside the Times Square Information Center at 1560 Broadway.
