The Broadway production of Bryony Lavery’s Frozen will close at the Circle in the Square Theatre on August 22 after six previews and 128 regular performances.

Directed by Doug Hughes, the show opened on Broadway on May 4 after a successful Off-Broadway run at the Manhattan Class Company (MCC). Frozen shows how a young girl’s disappearance and murder impacts the lives of three people from very different walks of life. The production stars Swoosie Kurtz, Laila Robins, Sam Kitchin, and Brían F. O’Byrne, who won a Tony Award for his performance.

Productions of Frozen have already been announced for upcoming seasons at the Curran Theater in San Francisco, the Studio Theatre in St. Louis, and the Alley Theatre in Houston. In addition, there are plans to stage the play in Australia and London in 2005, and negotiations are currently underway for the sale of the film rights.
