Broadway’s Sly Fox to Close This Sunday

It has just been announced that the current Broadway revival of Larry Gelbart’s Sly Fox will close following the matinee performance on Sunday, August 29, having played played 22 previews and 173 regular performances.

A statement from the show’s producers reads as follows: “With great regret, we have decided that the time has come to close the Broadway production of Sly Fox. We have a terrific new cast, but they have joined us at a time of year when it is difficult to build an audience. This problem is compounded by the difficult weeks we face ahead, beginning with the Republican Convention and the traditional downturn of business in September.”

Directed by Arthur Penn, Sly Fox currently stars Richard Kind, Bronson Pinchot, Bob Dishy, Richard Libertini, Jason Kravits, Rachel York, Carol Kane, Professor Irwin Corey, Nick Wyman, and Larry Storch. Also featured in the cast are MacIntyre Dixon, Linda Halaska, Jeremy Hollingworth, Robert LaVelle, Jason Ma, Jeff Talbot and Gordon Joseph Weiss.
