"Broadway on Broadway" Concert Set for September 12

Preliminary information regarding the 13th annual “Broadway on Broadway” concert — the kick-off event of the new theater season, in which 50,000 spectators gather in Times Square for a free concert of numbers from current and upcoming shows — has been released.

The concert, which will be hosted by Wayne Brady and Christy Carlson Romano, will be held on Sunday, September 12, beginning at 11:30am. It will feature selections from such currently running shows as Avenue Q, Beauty and the Beast, Bombay Dreams, Chicago, Dracula, the Musical, Forever Tango, Golda’s Balcony, Hairspray, Mamma Mia!, Rent, The Lion King, The Phantom of the Opera, The Producers, Wicked, and Wonderful Town, performed by the Broadway cast members. Upcoming shows to be represented include BROOKLYN, La Cage aux Folles, Little Women, and Pacific Overtures.

A one-hour version of the concert will be telecast by WNBC, Channel 4 in New York City, on Tuesday, September 14 at 7pm. For more information, visit www.BroadwayonBroadway.com.
