TAP Releases Fall Schedule of Broadway Shows To Be Signed and/or Captioned for the Hearing Impaired

TAP (Theatre Access Project), a program of the Theatre Development Fund (TDF) that is designed to assist theatergoers with hearing impairments, has released its fall schedule of Broadway shows to be interpreted in American Sign Language and/or enhanced with open captions.

Upcoming open-captioned performances include Movin’ Out (Wednesday, September 3 at 8pm); Gypsy (Wednesday, September 10 at 8pm and Wednesday, September 24 at 8pm); Take Me Out (Wednesday, October 1 at 8pm and Thursday, October 2 at 8pm); Urinetown (Saturday, October 11 at 2pm and Wednesday, October 15 at 8pm); The Violet Hour (Saturday, October 25 at 2pm); and Golda’s Balcony (Friday, October 31 at 3pm).

In addition, TAP will present a sign-language interpreted performance of Gypsy on Wednesday, September 17 at 8pm. The Broadway revival of Big River: The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn features sign language interpretation built into every performance.

Theatergoers with disabilities may join TAP’s mailing list in order to obtain special offers of tickets for open-captioned and sign language interpreted performances. All available seats are in full view of either the open-caption display or the interpreters. There is no fee to join the mailing list.
