A revival of Harvey, Mary Chase’s classic 1944 comedy, will not come to Broadway this fall as planned.

The show is now playing at the Laguna Playhouse in Laguna Beach, California. It had been scheduled to begin previews at the Lyceum Theatre on September 25 and to open on October 1, but producer Don Gregory has stated his desire to continue to work on the production prior to the Broadway opening. A new date has not yet been set. Directed by Charles Nelson Reilly, Harvey stars Charles Durning and Joyce and Dick Van Patten.

Replacing Harvey at Broadway’s Lyceum Theatre will be the Broadway transfer of the hit Off-Broadway production of Doug Wright’s I Am My Own Wife, about a man’s decades-long survival as a woman behind the Iron Curtain. No dates have yet been set for the show’s Broadway production.
