2003 Starving Artists Ball Scheduled for August 21

Studio 42 and TheaterMania will host the 2003 Starving Artists Ball, celebrating the emerging artists of the downtown theater scene, on Thursday, August 21.

In addition to the unveiling of the Starving Artists Award (designed and donated by sculptor Jonathan Adler), the event will feature keynote addresses by Frederick Weller, who is currently appearing on Broadway in Take Me Out, and John Tartaglia and Stephanie D’Abruzzo from Avenue Q. Ben Butler of the SoHo Grand will be the evening’s D.J.

The Starving Artists Ball will be held at The Metropolitan Pavilion (110 West 19th Street between Sixth and Seventh avenues) from 8pm until midnight on August 21. Tickets range from $60 to $250 and include a buffet dinner, open bar, dancing, and gift bags. All proceeds will benefit the Starving Artist Award Fund and Studio 42.
