MacRae, Siravo, McGinnis, Kimball in Sheba Reading

A special benefit reading of William Inge’s Come Back, Little Sheba will be presented by The Transport Group on Monday, August 19 at 8pm at the Lark Theatre. The cast includes Heather MacRae (Falsettos) as Lola, Joe Siravo (The Sopranos, The Boys From Syracus) as Doc, Megan McGinnis (Parade) as Marie, and Chad Kimball (Into the Woods) as Turk, with other roles to be played by Julia Murney, Jim Hindman, Jim Madden, John Wellmann, and John Cariani.

“A disturbing and heartbreaking story of a marriage ravaged by alcohol and unpursued dreams,” Come Back, Little Sheba opened on Broadway on February 15, 1950 in a production starring Shirley Booth as Lola and Sidney Blackmer as Doc. Booth won a Tony Award for her performance and an Academy Award for recreating the role opposite Burt Lancaster in the 1952 film version of Sheba.

All tickets for the August 19 reading of the play are $30, including admission to a post-performance reception with the cast. The Lark Theatre is located at 939 Eighth Avenue, between 55th and 56th Streets. For reservations, phone 212-560-4372.
