The musical adaptation of the hit 1995 teen film Clueless, now in its earliest stages of development, may have identified a potential leading lady for its hotly anticipated stage arrival. In a statement released to Vulture, director Amy Heckerling noted that the chart-topping pop star Katy Perry may be in the running for the lead role of Beverly Hills babe Cher Horowitz. "Katy Perry has expressed interest," said Heckerling, "and I love her to death." An experienced "California Gurl" herself, Perry may have just the right combination of skill and star power to see the production to the Great White Way.
