Cheers Star Jay Thomas Joins Country Musical Somewhere With You at NYMF

Somewhere With You, a modern country musical featuring a book and direction by Peter Zinn and a score by JT Harding, will offer seven performances at the Pershing Square Signature Center as part of the New York Musical Theatre Festival from July 8-13.

Several of Harding's songs have been made famous by country stars such as Kenny Chesney, Jake Owen, Uncle Kracker, and more. The musical features new numbers as well as songs from his extensive repertoire, including Chesney's No. 1 song "Somewhere With You" and Uncle Kracker's "Smile." The plot centers on a love story between an aspiring country-music singer and a recovering meth addict while chronicling the experience of U.S. soldiers based in Iraq in the early 2000s.

The cast of Somewhere With You features Graham Scott Fleming, Katy Frame, Andrew Rothenberg, Anna Grace Barlow, Lauren Hoffmeier, Jonathan Judge-Russo, Joshua Wiles, Ashley Arnett, and Emmy-winning actor Jay Thomas (Cheers, Murphy Brown) — biological father of the show's composer JT Harding.
