MCC Theater has announced casting for its upcoming world premiere of Neil LaBute's new play, The Money Shot, directed by Terry Kinney (LaBute's Reasons to Be Pretty). The company will feature film star Heather Graham (The Hangover), Gia Crovatin (Ostrander), Golden Globe nominee Callie Thorne (Necessary Roughness), and Frederick Weller (Mothers and Sons). Performances are scheduled to begin at the Lucille Lortel Theatre September 4 in advance of a September 22 opening. The production will run through October 12.

The play follows glamorous movie stars Karen (Graham) and Steve (Weller), who are desperate for a new hit and find hope for one in the latest movie by a hot-shot European director. The night before filming a big scene, however, Karen, her partner, Bev (Thorne), Steve, and his aspiring actress wife, Missy (Crovatin), meet in order to decide how far they will let themselves go to keep from slipping further down the Hollywood food chain.

"This is our ninth collaboration with our Playwright-in-Residence," said co-artistic director of MCC Theater Will Cantler, "and this time he's delivered everything we expect in a Neil LaBute play, and funnier — with a wrestling match. We can't wait to bring this play to life with this great cast and reunite Neil with director Terry Kinney."
