Newsies Corey Cott, Ben Fankhauser, Andrew Keenan-Bolger, and More Set for Stop the Presses Concert

The 54 Below event will feature performances and anecdotes from “everyone’s favorite newsboys (and girls).”

Cast members from the soon-to-close Broadway production of Newsies will take part in a one-night Stop the Presses: Newsboys of New York Rally concert at 54 Below on August 14. The event will be directed by Yvette Kojic, with music direction by Benjamin Rauhala. Shoshana Feinstein produces.

Stop the Presses is billed as "an evening of song, dance, backstage anecdotes, and special surprises from everyone's favorite newsboys (and girls)." The cast will feature will feature Aaron Albano, Giuseppe Bausilio, Tommy Bracco, Caitlyn Caughell, Corey Cott, Ben Fankhauser, Michael Fatica, J.P. Ferreri, John Michael Fiumara, Julie Foldesi, Damon J. Gillespie, Lewis Grosso, David Guzman, Jacob Guzman, Liana Hunt, Molly Jobe, Adam Kaplan, Evan Kasprzak, Andrew Keenan-Bolger, Jess LeProtto, Luca Padovan, Daniel Quadrino, Julie Reiber, Andy Richardson, Matthew Schechter, Jack Scott, Ryan Steele, Laurie Veldheer, Alex Wong, Iain Young, and Stuart Zagnit.

Broadway's Newsies won Tony Awards for Best Original Score Written for the Theatre and Best Choreography. It features music by Alan Menken and lyrics by Jack Feldman, with a book by Harvey Fierstein. The musical is inspired by the 1992 film of the same name and tells the story of a group of tenacious newsboys at the turn of the last century who band together to form a union and lead a strike after selling prices are raised.
