Walter Anderson's debut play, Almost Home, will be presented off-Broadway by the Directors Company this fall. Directed by Michael Parva, the drama will play the Acorn Theater at Theatre Row beginning Friday, September 12, and officially open September 18. The engagement will conclude on October 12.

In Almost Home, a young Marine named Johnny returns home to the Bronx and discovers that he is caught between his parents' dreams for the future and a corrupt police captain with plans of his own. Playwright Anderson, a former Marine sergeant and Vietnam veteran, served for three decades as the publisher, chairman-CEO, and editor in chief of Parade Magazine.

Director Parva, the artistic and producing director of the Directors Company, helmed the Broadway production of Irena's Vow, starring Tovah Feldshuh.

Casting and additional information about Almost Home will be released in the coming weeks.
