James Monroe Iglehart of Disney's Aladdin will guest-cohost ABC's The View on Friday, July 25, at 11am. The appearance marks Iglehart's cohosting debut.

The View has had a number of male guest-hosts in the past, including Ross Mathews (The Tonight Show With Jay Leno), Jesse Palmer (ESPN), and GOP pollster Frank Luntz. Show creator Barbara Walters retired from The View in May, and two of the show's permanent hosts, Sherri Shepherd and Jenny McCarthy, are set to depart.

Iglehart took home Drama Desk and Tony Awards for his portrayal of Genie in Aladdin, which is currently playing at the New Amsterdam Theatre. Aladdin, which also stars Adam Jacobs, Courtney Reed, and Jonathan Freeman, features songs made popular by the hit 1992 animated film, with additional songs by Alan Menken, Howard Ashman, Tim Rice, and Chad Beguelin, who also penned the show's book. The production is directed and choreographed by Casey Nicholaw.
