Peter Friedman, David Margulies, and More Cast in Lauren Yee’s The Hatmaker’s Wife

OBIE Award winner Rachel Chavkin will direct the Playwrights Realm production.

The Playwrights Realm has announced the full cast and creative team for its upcoming New York premiere production of Lauren Yee’s The Hatmaker’s Wife, which will play August 27-September 21. Opening night will be September 5. OBIE Award winner Rachel Chavkin (Natasha, Pierre & the Great Comet of 1812) will direct.

The cast of The Hatmaker’s Wife will include Megan Byrne (Serious Money), Peter Friedman (Twelve Angry Men), Frank Harts (A Raisin in the Sun), Marcia Jean Kurts (The Loman Family Picnic), David Margulies (Wonderful Town), and Stephanie Wright Thompson (Woodie Guthrie Dreams).

In the play, a young woman moves in with her boyfriend only to find that her new home is not what she expected. The walls tell her the tale of an old hat maker and his long-suffering wife who eventually runs away with his favorite hat.
