Nine New Musicals Set for National Alliance of Musical Theatre’s Annual Festival

Works by Paul Gordon, Stiles and Drewe, and more will be seen October 17 and 18.

Musicals by Kevin Del Aguila (Peter and the Starcatcher), Gordon Greenberg (Working), and the Olivier Award-winning team of Anthony Drewe and George Stiles (Mary Poppins) will be part of the National Alliance for Musical Theatre’s 25th Annual Festival of New Musicals, to be held October 17 and 18 at New World Stages.

The annual festival presents industry-only readings of nine new musicals presented in forty-five-minute staged concert readings over two days. Funded entirely through donations, sponsorships, and contributions, the costs for each production are underwritten by NAMT, at no cost to the writing teams.

Featured in the 2013 festival will be Paul Gordon’s Analog and Vinyl; The Astonishing Return of…The Protagonists! by Kevin Del Aguila and Michael Shaieb; Tim Rosser and Charlie Sohne’s The Boy Who Danced on Air; Come From Away by David Hein and Irene Sankoff; Eastland by Andre Pluess, Ben Sussman, and Andrew White; My Heart is the Drum by Stacey Luftig, Philip Palmer, and Jennie Redling; Richard Oberacker and Robert Taylor’s The Sandman; Gordon Greenberg and Tommy Newman’s The Single Girl’s Guide; and The Three Little Pigs by Anthony Drewe and George Stiles.

A limited number of free seats will be available to the public on a standby basis. The public can also receive passes to the festival through a donation to NAMT. For more information, click here.
