Complete casting has been announced for MCC’s New York premiere of John Pollono’s Small Engine Repair, set to begin performances at the Lucille Lortel Theatre on October 30 with an official opening set for November 18.

Jo Bonney will direct a cast featuring James Badge Dale (World War Z) as Swaino, James Ransone (HBO’s The Wire) as Packie, Keegan Allen (Pretty Little Liars) as Chad, and playwright John Pollono who will also co-star as Chad. Jon Bernthal (AMC’s The Walking Dead) and Tony Award nominee Christopher Fitzgerald (Finian’s Rainbow), who were previously announced to be joining the cast, are no longer be able to participate in the production due to scheduling conflicts.

Described as a “comic thriller,” the play follows Frank, Swaino, and Packie — longtime friends who are now past their prime. They meet in Frank’s repair shop after hours coming in contact with a preppy college jock named Chad, who makes the friends’ old resentments bubble to the surface.
